Executive Vice President and General Manager, Cengage School
Marty currently serves as the EVP and General Manager for Cengage School, where he leads the K-12 core curriculum and library businesses. Marty’s business serves science, social studies, and English learning markets under the National Geographic global brand, math through Big Ideas Learning, and library solutions via Gale. Additionally, he focuses on expanding career and college readiness programs, equipping students with essential skills for higher education or the workforce. In this role, Marty oversees Content & Portfolio, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to propel Cengage School’s strategy and growth.
With over three decades of experience in edtech and publishing, Marty has worked across K-12, Higher Education, and workforce skills sectors. Prior to joining Cengage Group, he held several key positions at McGraw Hill, including SVP Chief Product & Operating Officer, VP Digital Product Management, VP General Manager, and VP Marketing. He is recognized as a visionary and innovator, instrumental in driving digital transformation, new product development, and leading go-to-market effectiveness.
Marty is deeply passionate about shaping the future of K-12 education and making a significant impact on learners worldwide. He is renowned in the publishing, information services, and edtech industries as a thought leader who inspires new ideas, being a catalyst for change and improved outcomes for students and teachers.
Marty holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing/Marketing Management from the University of Northern Iowa.
