Meet Veronica Ochoa.
After immigrating from Mexico to the U.S., she faced the challenge of navigating daily life and supporting her children while learning English in an unfamiliar environment. Rather than letting language barriers hold her back, Veronica enrolled in Cengage’s adult education program focused on career and technical development, where she began strengthening her English skills while preparing for a future in healthcare. Through engaging, career‑focused learning experiences, she gained the confidence to participate more fully in her community, support her children’s education, and pursue further training. Today, Veronica is continuing her education to further her career in healthcare—showing how accessible learning opportunities can empower learners to gain new skills and create lasting impact for themselves, their families and communities.
