Ultimate Medical Academy Partners with Cengage for Unlimited Access Subscription to Course Materials

BOSTON and TAMPA, Fla., August 28, 2018 — Ultimate Medical Academy, an accredited nonprofit healthcare educational institution, is giving its thousands of students across the nation subscriptions to Cengage Unlimited, the first-of-its-kind subscription service for higher education course materials. Cengage, the largest U.S.-based education and technology company serving the higher education market, provides course materials to 11 million of the 20 million higher education students in the country.

“As we strive to continuously improve the UMA student experience, we are proud to provide our students with this enhanced access to quality course materials,” UMA Executive Vice President Geordie Hyland said. “Partnering with Cengage will give our students access to even more extensive learning resources, digital readings, and interactive content in the majority of their courses. We believe Cengage Unlimited will help our students sharpen their skills and achieve the necessary competencies to be successful in their UMA programs and future healthcare careers.”

Beginning this month, UMA students will have access to more than 20,000 Cengage materials, including eBooks and study guides. A subscription includes access to the company’s award-winning digital platforms, such as MindTap. UMA will also provide students with copies of printed textbooks. UMA online students will access their Cengage digital course materials through the institution’s learning management system and Clearwater Campus faculty will facilitate MindTap access to students at the institution’s campus in Clearwater, Florida.

UMA has also selected Cengage to provide institutional services, including enhancing courses with new assessment items and interactive features to enrich the learner experience. Future collaboration will include building out reporting capabilities to support continuous improvement of educational and support services for UMA students and alumni.
