Cengage Group Statement on S.383, the Jumpstart Our Businesses by Supporting Students (JOBS) Act of 2025
Today, Cengage Group CEO Michael Hansen released the statement below, endorsing the Jumpstart Our Businesses by Supporting Students (JOBS) Act. The JOBS Act—a bipartisan effort to expand educational opportunities for millions of Americans—will enable Americans to access the Pell grant for shorter duration, high-quality educational opportunities.
“Cengage strongly endorses the JOBS Act that will expand Pell grants to high-quality, short-term educational programs and training. Each year, we serve more than 12M students across Higher Education and Workforce Skills; we understand the importance of prioritizing investments in short-term programs for today’s students to provide credentials for the most in-demand career fields across healthcare, manufacturing, cybersecurity, and more. The JOBS Act balances providing new avenues for learning while ensuring quality measures and positive student outcomes are maintained. We applaud the leadership of Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA), Susan Collins (R-ME), Tina Smith (D-MN), and Roger Marshall (R-KS) for their commitment to providing new educational pathways under the JOBS Act. We urge Congress to pass the JOBS Act to unlock new opportunities for millions of Americans and address America’s critical workforce needs.”
