1. How does your role and the work you do help students and teachers?
As a Senior Enrollment Representative, I do not work directly with teachers, but I have the privilege of helping students take their first step toward achieving their educational goals. I guide them through the enrollment process, answer their questions and ensure they feel supported and confident in their decision to pursue learning. Every interaction is an opportunity to remove barriers and make education more accessible.
2. What is something you're proud of that has impacted learners?
One of the things I’m most proud of is the personal connection I build with students. I’ve had learners come back and tell me that my support gave them the confidence to move forward with their education. Knowing that I’ve played a small part in helping someone change their life through learning is incredibly rewarding.
3. What motivated you to work at Cengage Group and in edtech?
What motivated me to work at Cengage Group was the opportunity to be part of something that truly makes a difference in people’s lives. I’ve always been passionate about education and helping others succeed, and working in edtech allows me to do just that—on a meaningful scale. My husband, who also works at Cengage Group, played a big role in encouraging me to apply. He would often share how fulfilling his work was and how supportive the culture is here. Hearing about his experiences made me realize this was a place where I could grow professionally while contributing to a mission I believe in.
4. In what ways have the opportunities at Cengage Group contributed to your career growth?
Cengage Group has played a huge role in my career growth. From the start, I’ve felt supported and empowered to take ownership of my role and continuously improve. I’ve had access to training, mentorship and leadership that encourages innovation and collaboration. One of the most impactful aspects has been the culture—there’s a genuine investment in employee development here. I’ve grown not only in my technical skills but also in my confidence, communication and ability to lead initiatives.
5. As a remote employee, can you share a bit more about your experience?
As a remote employee, I’ve become a pro at juggling video calls, coffee refills and the occasional surprise appearance from my kids or pets. Working from home has given me the flexibility to be fully present for both my family and my career, which is something I deeply value. The remote setup allows me to create a focused, personalized workspace while still feeling connected to my team through strong communication and collaboration tools. I can jump from helping a student get enrolled to helping with homework, all in the same day.
6. Why is continuous learning important?
Continuous learning is important because the world—and the needs of learners—is always evolving. In education and edtech especially, staying curious and open to growth helps us better serve students and adapt to new challenges. On a personal level, as a working mom, continuous learning allows me to grow both professionally and personally. Whether it’s learning a new system, improving communication or finding better ways to balance work and family life, I believe every experience is a chance to learn something valuable. Plus, being part of a company like Cengage Group, where learning is at the heart of everything we do, makes it easy to stay inspired and motivated to keep growing.
